How to play
Each round shows a rule, such as Titles A → Z or Earliest time first, and two items. Tap the one that would come first. Get it right and your streak grows; get it wrong and you see why, with a link to the tool that sorts that way. Your best streak is remembered in this browser.
The tricky ones
- Titles skip “The”, “A” and “An”, the way libraries and bookshops file them.
- Last names ignore titles like Dr. and endings like Jr., and a comma means the last name is written first.
- Numbers inside words sort by value, so Item 9 comes before Item 10.
- 12:30 AM is just after midnight, the start of the day.
Every answer comes from the same sorting the site’s tools use, so if you can win here, you know exactly what Alphabetize Titles, Sort by Last Name and the others will do to your list.
