How to play
Each round shows a sorting rule and a list of five. Four are in order; one has been moved. Tap the one that’s out of place, and the game shows where it really goes and why. Your streak counts right answers in a row, and your best is remembered in this browser.
Where people slip
- Titles are filed without “The”, “A” or “An”, so The Hobbit sits among the H’s.
- Last names ignore Dr. and Jr., and “Kim, Joe” is filed under K.
- IP addresses sort part by part as numbers, so 10.0.0.10 comes after 10.0.0.2.
- 12:15 AM is a quarter past midnight, the earliest time of the day.
The tools sort these the same way: Alphabetize Titles, Sort by Last Name, Sort IP Addresses and Sort by Time.
