In the second example the second file has Email before Name and a Phone column the first doesn’t have. The columns are matched by their headings, Phone is added at the end, and the cells a file doesn’t have are left empty. The summary above the result says which files were missing which columns.
How the files are combined
- Columns are matched by heading, ignoring capitals and extra spaces, so “Email” and “email ” are one column. They keep the order they first appear in.
- Each file’s heading row is used once. If two exports were pasted one after the other, the second copy of the heading row is dropped.
- Commas, semicolons, tabs or pipes: each file’s separator is detected on its own, so a semicolon CSV from European Excel and a comma CSV combine fine. Choose how to separate the result.
- Cells are kept exactly as they are, including commas, quotes and line breaks inside quoted cells, leading zeros and long numbers. Nothing is reformatted.
- Files without headings? Choose First row of each file is: data and the rows are stacked as they are.
- Remove repeated rows leaves out a row that’s exactly the same as an earlier one, even if it came from another file.
- Add a “Source file” column to see which file each row came from.
Files saved by older versions of Excel (not UTF-8) are read correctly too, and the downloaded CSV is saved so Excel shows accents and other characters properly.
Private: nothing is uploaded
Your files are read by your browser and combined on your computer. They’re never sent anywhere, which matters for customer lists and exports with email addresses.

Combined a few contact exports? Clean the email list, remove duplicates by line, or sort by a column. The combined CSV stays in the box when you go to another tool.

Questions
Can I merge Excel files?
Save each sheet as CSV first (File, Save As, CSV), then add the CSV files here. Or copy the cells from Excel and paste them into the box: rows copied from Excel are separated by tabs, which is read the same way.
How many files can I combine?
As many as you like. Large files take a moment, since everything happens in your browser; tens of thousands of rows are fine.
What if the files have different columns?
Every column from every file is kept. A row from a file that doesn’t have a column gets an empty cell there.
Can I join two files on a matching column, like VLOOKUP?
Not yet: this tool stacks files one after another. To find rows that are in one list and not another, use Compare two lists.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
