Sort Lines by Length

How length is counted

Every character counts, including spaces and punctuation. Accented letters and emoji count as one character each. Lines of the same length keep their original order, so you can alphabetize first and then sort by length to get each length group in A to Z order.

Uses

• Find the longest titles or product names before they get cut off in a layout
• Check headlines, meta descriptions or tweets against a character limit with Show lengths
• Group word lists for puzzles and spelling practice
