How to print return address labels
- Type your return address, two to four lines.
- Press Make labels. Fill the last sheet is ticked, so one address fills the whole sheet.
- Press Print labels, and in the print window choose Scale: 100% and Margins: Default or None. Try plain paper first and hold it against the label sheet.
Sizes
- Avery 5167: 80 labels, ½″ × 1¾″, 4 across and 20 down. The classic return address size: three short lines fit, in small type.
- Avery 5160 (or 8160): 30 labels, 1″ × 2⅝″. Bigger type, room for four lines.
Long lines are shrunk to fit the label. If a line is still too long for a 5167 label, the preview shades it: shorten it (“Street” → “St”, or choose Addresses: USPS abbreviations) or use 5160 labels.
On A4 paper, choose Avery L7651 in the Labels menu: 65 small labels per sheet. More A4 sizes are on the Avery L7160 template page.
More than one address
Paste several addresses with a blank line between them (for the family, or for a business with two locations) and set Copies of each: on a sheet of 80, two addresses with 40 copies each fill it exactly. Using a sheet that’s partly gone? Set Start at label to the first unused label, counting across and then down.

Questions
What size are return address labels?
The most common are Avery 5167: ½ inch high by 1¾ inches wide, 80 to a sheet. Larger address labels like the Avery 5160 (1″ × 2⅝″, 30 a sheet) also work well.
Can I add a picture or a different font?
Not yet: labels are printed in a clear sans-serif type, centered or on the left.
Is my address uploaded?
No. Your browser lays out and prints the labels; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
How do I print mailing labels for a whole list?
Use Print mailing labels: paste the list or a spreadsheet and each address gets its own label.
